Does any one have any experience or opinions on how hard it would be to swap a 13btt motor into a 91 rx7? I know there is a crossmember to fabricate and some rewiring. Any input?

I don't know much about rx7's but I do know a 350 fits very nicely in your engine bay and would make for a very quick car.

omg...ignore that last post.....but other than the things you mentioned there isn't much else to worry about..it's a very simple swap, things like downpipe/exhaust, fuel pump(very important) and not much else..and would be the MUCH better choice of motors compared to a... uhhm...V-8

Ok kewl. that's what I though. Our other choice was going to be just swapping it out into a 2nd gen turbo and change the turbo out to a t66 ball bearing. Which one is better?

3rd gen is a little stronger(better apex seals)....but both are basically the same)

Ok how often would I have to replace the seals on the gen 2?

just replace them before you put the motor in the car and you should be good for awhile...how much boost/ horsepower are you going to run?

Actually, the 350 swaps have proved to be very sucessful in Rx7s.

HA! Told ya Brad. IMO Rotary engines are great for sunday driven and show cars. I havn't known a person yet that hasn't blown one up. You can put $50k in it and it will blow itself to peices eventually.

A lot of people buy RX7s because of the fact that they are different-rotary. BUT there are those people that put the V8s in them and I have to admit-they are fast...but my boyfriend's 3rd gen w/ a street port ROTARY was fasssssst. 378 at the wheels..

For their size rotaries can make insane amounts of power. I think they're pretty sweet engines, but the v-8's make those cars fast mostly because rx7's are light and relatively small. That and something no Rotary can make without boost, is torque!
