Hey all, looking to do a tranny swap on my Accord, take out the automatic and put in the 6 spd manual. Anyone know any good websites where I might be able find just a transmission, new or used, along with any parts I might need to complete the swap? ive already done web searches, ebay and all....but so far nothing. Help me out!

Don't know where to find such a new transmission but you'll need the tranny, shift linkage, the center console, ecu, and other parts. On such a new car it will be an expensive swap. I say trade it in, that will be much easier and cheaper.

Go to www.honda-tech.com and go to the forum that is set up for your specific make, model, and year of vehicle and ask the same question. They are honda gurus over there.

ya.....tried honda-tech, only got 1 reply, and it wasn't much. he said it can be done, but its gonna be hard to track down a tranny from a car that new, plus the new ECU and all that fun jazz. also he said its gonna be kinda expensive labor wise, but no actual prices were given. if you ZeroBar says is true, then I should get the 6 spd. in there sooner than later. any chance they might have a tranny over at a junkyard or sumthing? i would consider trading it in.....but by the time I get it the car will only be worth about half the money I would need to get that same thing in a 6 spd., so that kinda shoots down that idea.

Or you could sell the whole car privatly and buy a slightly older car, then use the remaining money to modify it. Think smarter, not harder

Either that or just work with what you got. Automatics have their drawbacks, but have some advantages. Does the car have a manual shift mode like paddle shift?

no those accord have the same looking tranny setup as mine, much newer and more advanced but the same basic handle with a sraight pulldown P-R-N-D4-3-2-1 no paddle stayle shifting...no sport shift like the 3.2CL no fun at all, but yeah the 6 spd is the way to go, and instead of dropping like 9 grand on the tranny swap, get the car from you dad, go to honda and trade it in for a 6spd with some options, and use the 9 grand from the tranny swap idea to pay the diff. of the 2 cars, and sink the available amount left over into performance parts...i personnaly would not do a tranny swap on that new of a car, it will hurt the value somthing feirce if you ever try to sell it...but thats just my 2 cents...B
