The new Z06 is coming, and it's badder than ever. 500hp and 475lb/ft of torque from the new LS7 7 liter small block. The engine comes with a forged crank, pistons, main bearing caps and titanium connecting rods. It uses a dry sump oil system to keep the oil moving while cornering hard. The intake manifold is composite and the valves are titanium filled with sodium. There's a power steering cooler as well as a trans and differential cooler which works through the radiator and a heat exchanger to keep the temp in check when your running hard. Weight savings comes from a new aluminum frame, magnesium engine cradle, magnesium roof panel and steering column bracket. The hood and front fenders are carbon fiber and the floor boards are carbon fiber/balsa wood composites. Even a 1in. smaller steering wheel to save weight. The brakes are six piston calipers up front w/ individual brake pads for each piston over 14in rotors. The rears are 13.4in w/ 4 piston calipers and ind. pads. How fast? 0-60mph in 3.7 sec, 1/4 mile in 11.7 @ 127mph, 190mph top end. It will also pull over 1g around a corner! Do I even need to say that I want one! If somebody will loan me the money to buy it I'll let you drive it!
