I thought since Joe(wayfastwhitey) is having a hard time making up his mind what to do to his car, I'd see what everyone else thinks. It's a 91 MR2 that n/a and he wants to do a swap, either to the 3SGTE or the v6 from the camry. Pros and cons: The v6 will be an easier motor to find in a junk yard and likely cheaper than a 3S. The v6 will also likely cost more to install. The v6 is lighter than the 3S, its aluminum block vs. the 3S's iron block. The 3S in the long run will output more hp than the v6, but its a peaky power band and the v6 would be very linear. An n/a engine would work better for autox than having to try to maintain boost and have on/off power. The 3S will likely have much higher maintenance costs than the v6. These are a few of the pros and cons of the motors. I'm all for the v6, its lighter, more compact, easier to maintain, and the power band will work much better for autox than the turbo4. Plus in autox you dont need a lot of power. What do you guys think about this? Which would you do?

I say go V6. It'll be unique, and be the best solution for what Joe is trying to accomplish. Since he's more into autox, he'll want that quick power. But....I will make sure that by the time I'm done with mine...I will be faster!
