the car you were referring to is called the Holden Manaro. it did agitate me that they just slapped the badge on it and called it the Gto. I had always wanted a Holden Manaro in the first place so I am glad they came to the USA. So back off!

h8tcivics is right, it's a Holden Manaro, and it is the king of the road and track in Austraulia too. Bob Lutz of General Motors decided to bring it here, as Holden is a "foreign" brand that is a division of GM. They started a racing program about 4 or 5 years back with that car platform and it did really well, so well that Bob thought we'd like to have one too. With the death of the F body, this was a perfect car until they can re-release the F-body again to compete with the retro Mustang, it's all about business...We're pretty fortunate they could swing it at all with the huge tarriff's and taxes they have on vehicles down under, the first year they only made a ridiculous number of them, like 20,000 or so. They were all imported from Austraulia too, which is a serious feat they were able to do. A lot of people don't know this but to buy an American car there is extremely expensive. A $35,000-US Buick Park Avenue for instance, is about $70,000-US. I personally like it, and I like the fact that they changed virtually nothing about the car. I saw them before they brought out the GTO and I wanted the Holden also, I'm glad i can finally get it, I just need to be able to afford it now...Time to sell some of my cars...Maybe I should just buy a used Corvette....what to do...lol
