I'm sorry....I must have missed something. What does the top speed have to do with the price of the car?

I was checking out the Silver State Classic and it's pretty affordable so I want something that will top 140 and hold together for 90 miles.

I would never buy a car from that dealership. My friend bought an Eclipse GSX from that place and the motor was toast in a week and a half. My friend Joe bought his 91 MR2T from them. They wouldnt let him test drive the car. He was very suspicious about purchasing it. He ended up buying it anyway, and on the way home his motor went out. He ended up paying 7k dollars for the car and another 7k dollars in repairs. If you think that the price is good think again. That dealership is an absolute shithole. Last time I was in their we saw a Ferrari 355 with a shit motor, shit paint job, and a shit interior. The paint felt like 80 grit sand paper.
BTW Top speed=137 governed Ungoverned=150-160 mph

Yeah...that place is pretty shaddy. I had no problem taking out a GS-T that was in there, but they cars are still junk and over priced.

BTW Top speed=137 governed Ungoverned=150-160 mph there is no speed limiter on a US market MR2. turbo or not. they are just gear limited. if you have a japanese ECU in your car, its regulated to about 118 or so. turbo cars will do 150 with stock gears, non turbo will do 125 with stock gears.

All i know is, in stock form, my fuel cut kicked in a 148.. thats about right. mine will probably do 160 because ive got taller tires in the rear. haha. otherwise, if you want a higher top speed, you swap in the final drive from a late 80s alltrac celica, or from a solara

the final drive? just makes the gear ratios longer and give you a higher top speed. but with longer gears you get slower acceleration.

Hmm... I was told it was fuel cut at 137. Someone a long time ago on mr2oc.com told me that. Thanks for the correction.
