I am shaving my spoiler from my trunk and I need to weld some metal plates to cover up the screw holes..Anyone have a welder that I might be able to stop by and use?
Also, where would be a good place to pick up a small amount of metal to weld with?

Hmm..Is an arc welder something I am going to want to use to weld metal together? I know nothing about welders so excuse my ignorance.

welding plates over the holes sounds like a lot of work...unnessesary work in my opinion, taking a lot of painstaking work to get it to look just right..
Why not just putty it over and paint it? Just my 2 cents...it'd be earier and probably have a cleaner finished product, especially if you've never welded before, bondo or fiberglass/resin may be a better route for you. Just my thoughts...

Well, I plan on welding small plates into the holes and then using some glass and bondo.I just want to make sure that it holds on there for good. I don't half ass it.

acr welders arent the best option compared to a tig an arc welders are the predecesor to the welders used today but in my opinion arc welders still mack the best welds the old saying for arc welders is the metal will break before the weld breaks i'd say for your needs i would look to get ahold of a tig because you just need 2 or 3 tack weld (spot welds) so its still an option if you need it but id save it till no other option is available

Yea, I just need two or three spot welds on each hole. I think there is only three holes.
