I tried to list the biggest and most popular manufacturers. If you don't see the one you like simply post it and tell us why you like them, name a favorite car if you like.

I take Porsche. No other car company compares to their dedication to performance. They're the only car company that has produced EVERY concept car they've ever built. Porsche has even built and sold cars at a loss of profits just to compete in a certain race, example: the 959! Chances are if you buy a Porsche it's a car that was raced and developed before it was available to the public and nobody else does that!

I voted lotus. Their ground-breaking designs have always defined the performance industry. Plus, the MR2 was a lotus design sold to toyota.

i went with Honda/Acura. they may not be the most performance motivated company, but they still can make sum fast cars, the S2000 and NSX for example, not to mention all the Indy cars that have those Honda V-8's. The main reason though is that they basically started this whole industry, and they were also the first ones to incorporate variable valve timing. VTEC pioneered the way for VVT-i, MIVEC, and all the others. also, the simplicity of a honda engine has produced a whole new generation of people interested in cars/mechanics. now yes, i know that there are plenty of ricey civics out there, but without them i dont think that the scene or industry itself would be as big as it is today.

As for the variable valve timing, the idea of it was toyed with years prior by GM and Ford, but just wasn't a reality at the time. Honda did what the Japs do best, take one of our ideas and basically make it work for the masses. Mivec has been around just about as long as Vtec, just is very different in how it works and wasn't in huge selling cars likr the Accord and Civic.

and honda vtec is not like vvti . hondas vtec is a secondany cam lobe, not computer controled valve timing.

Also, the vvtli has cam phasing which the new ivtec now has as well, no more adjustable cam gears!!

VVTL-i ALSO has a pin that physically pushes up the entire cam instead of secondary lobes. And Honda didnt start the whole racing thing, chevy, ford, and mainly Pontiac fired it up back in the old days when honda made the "city" lol

Ferrari is the company that never fails to set the bar higher. Along with their pricetags.

Well Im glad that Acura brought out the NSX, it forced Ferrari to build a reliable sports car, which they weren't known for.

GM. There's always been a Chevy/GM in my parent's garage, corsica, astro, blazer, Firebird, Grand Prix. I voted honda because I have one, and I really like it.
