It's Evo vs. STi, so which one do you like more? and tell us what you think of each car or why you like one more than the other!

This has always been a hard choice for me. When i finally read EVERY COMPARISON ARTICLE the internet and magizenes had to OFFER (out of pure curiosity.. nerdy, eh?), it came down to the Evo8 has better handling. Which one would i buy though? The STi. Why? Simple, Subaru has a better track record when it comes to warantees, and quality of the car as a whole compared to mitsubishi. That, and Evo8's are ugly as balls.

Funny thing is that Subaru's warranty from what I understand to be is more strict than Mitsu's but enforcement is obviously different. Plus there are simply too many rumors running rampant about Mitsu dealers voiding warranties for there not be some truth to it all. I think the funniest thing is that Subaru gives you a 1 year free membership into Scca if you buy one but it says if you register with Scca and race your car your warranty is over.

per a mechanic at Dennis this morning. and I quote "if it's just simple bolt-ons, we're not going to void your warranty. It's when you go and start doing things like putting on bigger turbos and fucking with the stock boost settings and upgrading the intercooler. Going racing and blowing up your motor, then comming here, expecting it to be covered, when we tell you that it's not, you go and take all the aftermarket off, come back, and THEN expect it to be covered.... that's where we draw the line. We used to be alot more strict, but lately with the better warranties, we're not going to worry about minor upgrades."
To clarify minor: intake, exauhst, suspension....
EVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's just built better. I test drove an STi. Downshifted from 4th to 3rd (pretty hard) and I heard and felt the drive shaft bounce up and hit the bottom of the car.
Plus, hanging out with the scoobies back in Chicago, they were cracking blocks and blowing rings left and right. I havn't seen too much of that in the evo's unless they're in the over 500 hp club. Also, it's alot easier to get more motor out of the 4g63. That things just been around for ever.
If you want a wobbly hood and wing go for the scoob.

I unfortunatly havn't had the opportunity to drive either of the cars, but i have ridden in both. The STI is definitly the more comfortable car with more horsepower. I recently got to ride along with my buddy Ray in his 2005 EVO MR at his and my first autocross event, which as we all know by now voided his warranty. The car seemed alot stiffer and overall a better handling car than the Subaru. 1 vote Mitsubishi.
