It's close for me but I like the s2k a little more. I've always liked the mr2's body style especially when lowered with wheels, it has an almost exotic look to it. The s2k is just sweet looking, especially the new ones(05) I think it is.

As you can all tell by now, Im a Honda guy. However this posed a very interesting question to me.....while I love the S2000 (mostly its engine/tranny/drivetrain), to me it is an old mans sportscar and not nessecarily for the younger tuner generation.....mostly bc of its pricetag. The styling of the MR2 is much better, I like to body design, aerodynamics and the rear mount engine. If Toyota were smart they would rip that POS they call an MR2 off the market and modernize this model a little bit n put it back on the market. My personal favorite above is the white MR2....its nearly Ferrari-like. Personally if I had to compromise b/w these 2 cars, I would take the MR2 bc of its looks and potential.....and then drop the incredible engine of the S2000 in it (with many customizations of course). Overall if the MR2 had an engine that rivaled the S2000's, it would be my personal favorite hands down.

I don't agree with the engines, I'd like to see the S2000 gain 70-80hp for less than $500. I think the 3sgte has a lot more potential. Though I love the way s2k's just scream. Transmission I will agree with, Honda shifters are almost impossible to beat. They just shift perfectly.

Without a doubt the MR2 is the better looking of the TWO. You have to love the Aerodynamic look of the nose to the engine intake scoops which pull cold air in, and push the warm air out of the engines ducted lid right back to the stylish and functional spoiler. My MR2 is lowered with 17 inch rims and low profile tires. This car definitly gets the looks from everybody, especially the local police officers.

I still dont get the comparison. Mid-engine t-top car to a front engine roadster. They really look nothing alike, and have little in common.

Their quarter mile numbers and handling abilities. And both 2 seaters. They are like the night and day brothers of eachother. They couldnt be more different except the way they feel when you drive them.

Since I have a Honda engine I should lean towards the s2k....they are pretty hot cars but I think it'd be cooler to have as a 30-something mom. Obivously not the kid-toter but for a fun car. At this age, I'd definately prefer a turbo mr2, you don't see as many and they're so hot!
