ive heard this argument b4.....about non- vtec cars being better with turbos.....and the solution is very simple however can cost quite a bit. you need to have your VTEC tuned to where the VTEC lift and the turbo spool begin at the same time. standard VTEC timing and turbo spooling are usually at very different RPM levels and this is what causes problems.... timing the 2 things to happen at once with give you an incredible performance boost......i know this bc its what i had done on my old turbo civic si....it works, but you have to find someone who knows how to tune the cars well....

Meaning you need a large turbo that doesnt spool till nearly 5000 rpm. Talk about a fucked up hp and tq curve! Not makes for a freeway only car pretty much.

Ask any of the guys at slowmotion about turboing VTEC motors, because they have ALL done it. They actually get paid to do it. They're fun to ride in but have absolutely no low-end, even with that honda CRV bottom end and a type-R top end.. THEN a turbo dropped on it.

Good point, they have several turbo'd vtec cars that I hear are pretty damn fast.
